Privacy Policy
Last updated October 2026 - We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
This website is operated by J. Cahill & Company Limited ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 12280305, registered office 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about privacy at james@jcahillco.com.
What we collect
- Information you give us: your name, email address, organisation, phone number and anything you
include in a message, whether through the contact form, by email, by phone or in person. - Business contact information: details of professionals and organisations we work with or may
introduce, which may come from you, from the other party to an introduction, or from public sources such as company websites, LinkedIn and Companies House. - Website usage information: if you consent, our website provider's analytics tool (IONOS SiteAnalytics) records how the site is used, such as pages viewed, approximate location and device type.
- Optional third-party services: if you choose to load the embedded map (Google Maps) or the website translator, those providers may collect information about your visit under their own privacy policies.
We do not knowingly collect special category data and ask that you do not send it to us.
How and why we use it
- To respond to enquiries and manage our relationship with you: our legitimate interest in running our business, or steps taken at your request before entering into an agreement.
- To make introductions: we share your details with another party only with your agreement, or where you have asked us to make the introduction.
- To perform agreements (for example, introducer agreements) and to keep business records: contract and legal obligation.
- For website analytics, maps and translation: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the cookie settings on the site.
We do not sell personal data or use it for automated decision-making.
Who we share it with
- Parties you have agreed to be introduced to.
- Our service providers, including IONOS (website hosting and analytics) and our email and IT providers, who process data on our behalf.
- Professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers, where necessary.
- Regulators, law enforcement or other authorities where required by law.
International transfers
Because we work internationally, introductions may involve sharing your details with parties outside the UK. Where a country is not covered by UK adequacy regulations, we will take appropriate steps, such as sharing only what is needed, with your agreement, and using contractual safeguards where applicable.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and contact information for as long as needed to respond and maintain our business
relationship, and generally no longer than six years after our last contact, unless a longer period is required by law. Analytics data is kept in line with our website provider's settings.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your personal data, have it corrected or erased,
restrict or object to its use, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email james@jcahillco.com. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).
